A beautiful harbourside bushland reserve. It’s a small island linked to the mainland by a wide grassy causeway. There are excellent views of the harbour and city.

It’s part of North Sydney Council, and the general dog regulations are available at https://www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/Recreation_Facilities/Parks_Reserves/Dogs_in_Parks_Reserves_and_Playgrounds – which states that dogs are NOT permitted in the bushland.

However there is a dedicated page for Berry Reserve on the council website at https://www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/Recreation_Facilities/Parks_Reserves/Search_Parks/Berry_Island_Reserve which says “Dogs are welcome in the Reserve however they must be kept on a leash in bushland areas and they are not permitted within 10m of the playground”.

Excellent custom-designed playground for kids as follows:

  • Fully fenced on 3 sides with steep rockface enclosing the fourth side
  • Equipment particularly suitable for adventurous, older children along the back and more junior equipment to the north of the space.
  • Nearby picnic tables and Barbeques.
  • Slides, climbing walls, firepole, spider’s web climbers, and four swings.

A truly beautiful place.
